De Pijp's 19th-century buildings have narrow, steep stairwells and thin walls. We cover everything carefully, plan tightly (you know exactly when we arrive) and leave the place broom-clean every day — your neighbours included.

Window frames on busy streets

Frames on Ferdinand Bolstraat, Ceintuurbaan or Van Woustraat take more abuse from traffic and weather. We use a paint system that can handle it and give honest advice on the maintenance cycle.

What does painting in Amsterdam cost?
See our detailed price overview at the top of this page. As a guideline: wall coating starts from €12 per m², exterior window frames from €125 each, and a complete apartment interior is typically €2,800 to €5,500. We always work with a fixed price agreed up front, so no surprises. All prices include 9% VAT for homes older than 2 years.
Do you charge by the hour or a fixed price?
By default always a fixed price agreement on paper before we start. No hourly rate, no extra/less-work discussions afterwards. For very small jobs (e.g. one loose door or radiator) we work on a day rate. You know up front what it costs, no meter running.
How quickly can you start?
After approving the quote we can usually start within 1 to 2 weeks. Got an urgent job (e.g. moving in or water damage)? Fill in the form and we'll check straight away if we can make space in the schedule.
What paint do you use?
We work exclusively with professional paint systems from quality brands like Sigma and Sikkens. These coatings give a beautiful, smooth finish and protect your woodwork long-term against the Dutch weather. Colour advice is always included.
Do you work on monumental properties and apartment buildings (VvE)?
Absolutely. We specialise in painting Amsterdam canal houses and apartment buildings (VvE / Homeowners Associations). We have extensive experience with wood rot repair and restoring monumental details.
Is 4Builders a registered and insured company?
Yes, we are a registered Dutch company (Chamber of Commerce no. 99333074) and fully insured with both liability and CAR insurance. You carry no financial risk during the work.
